FURNITURE & HOUSEHOLD HELP
Furniture Assistance for Veterans
Moving into a home without the basics can make an already difficult situation harder.
Homeland Heroes Foundation helps veterans, service members, and military families with furniture and household essentials when they need a hand getting settled.

How HHF Can Help
Helping Turn an Empty Space Into a Home
For a veteran moving into a new apartment, leaving temporary housing, starting over after a difficult period, or simply lacking basic household furniture, an empty home can create another layer of stress.
HHF works to provide qualifying veterans and military families with available furniture and household items based on current inventory and need.
The goal is simple: help make the home functional, comfortable, and livable.

Who Can Request Furniture Assistance?
Homeland Heroes Foundation serves veterans, active-duty service members, and military families across New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Maine, and Vermont.
If you are unsure whether your situation qualifies, submit the assistance request and tell us what is going on. HHF can review the request and let you know what help may be available.
What to Expect
How Furniture Assistance Works
Apply
Complete the HHF Veteran Assistance form and select Furniture & Household Items.
Tell Us What You Need
Let HHF know what furniture or household items would help most. The application should give HHF enough information to understand the household and the immediate need.
HHF Reviews Your Request
A member of the HHF team reviews the request and may contact the applicant for additional information or documentation.
HHF Coordinates Next Steps
If HHF can assist, the team will explain what furniture is available and how pickup or distribution will work.
Documentation
What Information May Be Needed?
HHF may ask for information or documentation to confirm military service and better understand the request.
This may include military-service documentation such as a DD214 or military ID. In some situations, HHF may ask for other information related to the household or current need.
If you do not have a DD214 available, you can still submit the request. An HHF team member can let you know what other documentation may be accepted.
Military Service Documentation
- DD214 or military ID
- Completed application
- Additional information related to the household or current need, if requested
Furniture Pickup and Transportation
Pickup and transportation requirements can vary depending on the assistance request, available inventory, and HHF distribution process.
HHF works closely with veterans to explain helper and delivery arrangements. Applicants should wait for instructions from the HHF team before arranging transportation.

More Help Available
Need More Than Furniture?
Some veterans need help with more than household furniture. HHF may also assist with other approved needs such as food, gas, temporary lodging, utility assistance, emergency financial needs, and resource referrals.

Why It Matters
Basic Furniture Can Make a Big Difference
A home without a bed, table, chair, dresser, or couch can make everyday life harder.
Furniture assistance helps veterans create a place where they can sleep, eat, store belongings, spend time with family, and begin to feel settled.
That practical help can make a difficult transition a little easier.
